Meet Kurt, the three-legged wonder with a heart of gold! One look in those eyes and you`ll fall in love. In his past, Kurt spent his days tied up on a cable run, and one day he got his back legs wrapped up in it. He was then taken to the shelter, very sick, with a high fever and badly infected. As a result, he had to have one of the back legs amputated. Despite having three legs, Kurt has no mobility issues and can jump in the car, hop on the couch, and walk for miles without hesitation. He’s also fully potty trained and can be trusted home alone, uncrated, leaving everything in its place.
Kurt is a sweet and energetic dog who loves to relax on the couch for naps but gets equally excited for walks and outdoor time. With his thick coat, he enjoys his daily hour-long walks and leads the pack with ease—he’s strong, happy, and full of life.
Kurt gets along wonderfully with other pets and people! He happily shares his foster home with 2 dogs and 2 cats without any issues. He’s gentle and friendly with kids, making him an excellent family companion. While Kurt has a playful side, he’s also calm and content to nap when things are quiet.
Kurt is known to test fences and has busted through weak spots in the past, so a secure yard is a must. Kurt is an affectionate dog who’s ready to bring joy and adventure into your home. If you’re looking for a happy companion, Kurt might just be the perfect fit!

We have an open adoption policy, so there is no application or interview process. We simply ask that you meet the pet in person before adoption. We have adoption specialists that will help you find the right pet for your family.
Adoption Center
The Adoption Center is located at 7500 N. Western Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73116. Our Adoption Center is a totally new concept in Oklahoma City where dogs have comfortable, expanded kennels and cats stay in “living rooms” with furniture and toys.
Pets by Appointment
Some amazing dogs get stressed out in a kennel environment like our Adoption Center, and much prefer staying at their foster home until they find their new family. If you see a dog on our website that says “E-Mail to Meet Me” that means that this furry friend is just a click away from getting a ride to the Adoption Center to meet you in person.
Adoption Fees
Adult dogs are $150 to adopt, puppies are $200 to adopt, adult cats are $75 to adopt and kittens are $95 to adopt. All of our pets are microchipped, spayed or neutered, treated with all age-appropriate vaccinations and flea, tick, and heartworm preventative prior to being cleared for adoption, so we put a lot of effort and monetary investment into each of our animals including a two-week quarantine period in a foster home. These adoption fees help cover the costs of our animals’ health and well-being!
