My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

2 year old Nabisco is a lovable dog who enjoys cuddling and giving kisses. This 50 pound boy loves to rub his head on you and rub his body through your legs in a very cat-like manner. He will contort himself trying to get as much love as possible and end up doing a front tumble at times. He loves affection. He is very food and treat motivated. A slow feeder has been a hit with Nabisco and helps him to slow down while eating his meals. He is a pro at sit and is working on other basic commands. He loves going for walks and is mostly polite on his leash. He does pull sometimes but is easily redirected. Walking with another dog is a breeze for Nabisco, and he is excited to explore new surroundings as often as possible. Off leash in a fenced-in yard, he loves to run around and has enjoyed eating as much snow as possible. He enjoys playing fetch and also comes when called to go inside. He does jump and has been known to hop over a baby gate in the house, so it wouldn’t be surprising if he jumped a short fence without supervision outside. He’s a friendly boy who likes new people. He gets very excited and sometimes jumps up, but will immediately sit when told. He likes to play chase and try to play-tackle his canine foster sister. Getting Nabisco into his crate is mostly easy, with just an occasional treat needed for encouragement. He cuddles into his blankets and sleeps there with no issues while his foster family is at work. Play time is Nabisco’s favorite time. He will entertain himself with toys, rolling around while holding them in his front paws. He flings toys around and chases them, entertaining himself endlessly. A little tug of war is always a favorite of Nabisco. You don’t have to worry about Nabisco getting too rough when playing. He is gentle when grabbing toys and releases them when told. He does need supervision with fluffy toys, as he can have the insides appear in the blink of an eye if motivated. He is a smart cookie with puzzle feeders and treat toys, immediately working to configure and move the toy or feeder to get his reward to come out. He is always excited to receive stuffed kongs and lick mats. Nabisco is sweet and content with cuddles and pets, but every once in a while he gets a look in his eyes and his rambunctious, playful side comes out. He gets zoomies around the house and will get so excited to include his foster family in the fun that he extends all four legs straight out and dives into them before continuing his parkour antics around the room. While he does get excited and does his best flying squirrel impression at times, he stops when corrected and resumes his playtime with his toys after. Since he does get a little excited during playtime or when first seeing people, a home with small children may not be best for him since he could unintentionally knock them down. Nabisco is a sweet boy who will be the cuddly lap dog you’re looking for, but also the playful companion to keep you entertained.January 19, 2025, 5:21 pm

More about this rescue

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form.

We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:
•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.
•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.
•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.
•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Please help us help the animals!
