Take a look at this handsome one year old boy! This is duke, he is a Basset Hound and Dachshund mix (Basschshund) who weighs 30.2 pounds. Duke is very playful and social with everyone he meets. He loves playing with his foster parents 3-year-old daughter and is very good with her. Duke is a funny guy who howls at his own reflection! His foster parents are currently in the process of housebreaking him and feel he will get the hang of it very soon.
The Basschshund is known for its playful nature, which makes for an entertaining dog who will always try to bring a smile to your face. They are even-tempered, sweet dogs who make excellent family dogs for children of any age. Because of their wonderful companionship, they also make lovely dogs for singles, couples or seniors who are looking for a gentle dog to cuddle and train. Sweet and playful, the Basschshund is a wonderful family dog.

After the application approval, we set up a meet and greet with you, the animal you are wanting to adopt and any pet's you may have in order to see how everyone gets along. If all goes well we finalize the adoption. Our adoption fees vary from animal to animal.
What the adoption fee covers:
* All medical -up to date on vaccinations including Rabies, flea and tick treated, started on heartworm prevention (for dogs and pups over 6 months), spayed or neutered, (for dogs and pups over 6 months) and micro-chipped. In certain cases, some of our rescues require an extensive amount of medical treatment to get them healthy. We will spare no expense when it comes to the health and wellbeing of our animals. Extensive medical costs will never be passed on to the adopting family; but your adoption fee does help us recover some of the costs.
*Supplies you will receive with adoption – leash and collar.
