My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Zora is a two year old kitty. She is polydactyl on the front with distinct thumbs. Sometimes these cats are called Hemingway kitties, because Ernest Hemingway supposedly brought the first ones to Key West, Florida, where he resided. As they bred, they became more numerous on that island, and still are. Zora is a lovely example. She is a calm, sweet cat, who will quietly provide a friendly and loving prescence in your home.

All of our dogs, cats, rabbits & ferrets are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Small animals are usually not altered. We have adoption applications, a short interview process, and an adoption fee for each animal. All animals (except rabbits & small animals) are up to date on all shots.

We hold adoption events on Saturdays at Petsmart in Mishawaka from 11-3. We also hold other events throughout the year. Heartland Small Animal Rescue is a non-profit serving South Bend & surrounding cities. We are comprised of a group of dedicated volunteers who work to find loving homes for homeless pets in our area.

Company Overview
Heartland Small Animal Rescue Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving South Bend, IN and surrounding towns by taking in homeless pets and adopting them out into loving homes. We also work closely with local shelters to reduce euthanasia rates by pulling animals and putting them in our program.
