My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi!  My name is Bob! I am a 1.5 year old American Bobtail, neutered and fully vetted. Of course, I think I am adorable, super affectionate and amazingly sweet. Come meet me and see!

I had taken shelter in a vending truck engine all my life. The employees who fed and named me say I am the only kitten to survive from my litter and sadly, something happened to my mom so I was left alone.  In October someone abandoned a kitten nearby so I took him underwing and showed him the ropes until he was rescued, as well.

I ADORE belly rubs and pets. My first night inside was on something so soft!  I have never had soft before, so I started making biscuits and purring right away.

There are these things called ‘toys’ and there are so many of them! I never had toys before so I play with energy and joy, just like a kitten!  Between that and a soft place to sleep, I am an incredibly grateful, happy cat enjoying the good life and now looking for a Forever Family to love me.  Are YOU my Forever human? I am waiting for you!

Bob is curious and wants to play with other adult cats, but would need a slow introduction.  Though he has made great progress with his foster kitty siblings, he might do best in a home of his own where he can get that top kitty attention he has missed and a kitten friend he can nurture is introduced at a later date.  Bob would do well with a gentle, calm dog and is learning to trust the dog in his foster home. His previous exposure to dogs was with strays who stole his food, so please be understanding of this and his need for a slow introduction.

Application and veterinary reference required.  A home visit is preferred.  Bob’s adoption fee is $125, which will include microchip registration and a 30 day money back satisfaction return policy.

We also have a Forever Return Policy, as well. If something changes 5 days or 15 years from now and you can no longer keep Bob, he will always have a place to go. No risk, all the reward.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The first step in our adoption process is the completion of our adoption application, and we do not charge an application fee. We charge an appropriate adoption fee to cover most of the costs associated with vetting each animal. We have a 2 page contract to be signed at time of adoption, and we offer a 14 to 30 day money back return policy, dependent upon age of the animal.

More about this rescue

Adopt-a-Kitty is an all species/breed caregiver to lost, homeless, and unwanted pets that are in need, locally and in nearby surrounding areas, concentrating mainly on cats and kittens. We accept “special needs” pets as well, when in need. In the last 5 years, we have placed hundreds of animals, a good portion pulled from high kill shelters. Our mission in life is to love, care for, and PLACE animals who haven't been given a chance. All pets are tested, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, etc. prior to adoption. We provide a safe place for our rescued pets to stay until a forever family can be found. Because we are a grassroots organization, we rely on help from the public, adoption donations, and money from our own pockets.
