My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Herman is a 4.5 year old American Pit Bull Terrier. I adopted Herman in December of 2023 from Halifax. He was a bait dog for the first few years of his life and had been in the shelter for a year with no luck. He was covered in wounds and bruises and only weighed 40 pounds when I adopted him (I am happy to say he is up to 77 pounds now!)

Herman is very calm-tempered and has never shown any signs of aggression. Due to his rough background, he is very anxious/skiddish. He is the type to keep to himself and sleep most of the day away. He will need time to bond and build trust with the right person/family. He has spent time around children of various ages, cats, and other dogs. He absolutely loves playing with other dogs! This is when I’ve seen him the happiest, so a home with another dog might be a great place for him. He can run around and play for hours! He has a lot of puppy energy!
