My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet  Dolly  (Parton)! A Good Samaritan found this sweet girl hanging around the house that they had never seen her before. She was super skittish and they spent the next few days gaining her trust and giving her some food. After talking with some neighbors, they found out she had been seen on various cameras in the area for the past YEAR living on her own in the woods and scavenging.

She has completely transformed into a loving and super appreciative house guest. She’s estimated to be about 7-8 years old and getting up to a healthy weight, probably will be around 45-50lbs once fully healthy. She is heartworm positive, but this is not anything to be concerned with! With monthly preventatives, we are certain she will be HW- in no time.  She is in overall in great health considering her age and history.

She’s been amazing with her foster family of kids and two other dogs. She’s definitely cautions as she’s learning to trust again, but has not once been defensive.

If you are interested in adopting sweet  Dolly , please submit an application and we would love to introduce you!

Go meet their pets

Scout's Honor Rescue does not currently have its own facility to keep the animals in its adoption program. All animals in our program are fostered by individuals who keep the dog or cat at their residence until it is adopted. Consider opening your home to a dog or cat in need. You become the caregiver to a precious animal – their future is in your hands! It is incredibly rewarding to know that you have given that animal the two most precious gifts- Life and Love. For many of them, this is the first kind hand they have known.
