Meet the Pet
Bear Pup is a sweet Jack Russell Terrier mix, full of puppy enthusiasm wagging her tail constantly! She is very intelligent and loves attention! At six months old, Bear enjoys learning new things, playing ball, getting belly rubs, and giving lots of love. She likes the fetch game A LOT and will play fetch all day if given the opportunity (she brings the ball back every time).
Bar would love having a fenced yard to run and play ball in, or a large indoor space with lots of toys accompanied by outdoor walks. Her favorite activities are holding or running after her ball, squeaking toys, and "shaking" her squirrel stuffy. But as soon as someone sits down in a chair, Bear changes her thought-process and jumps up to be next to him/her and lays calmly cuddling with that person.
Bear has helped around the foster house….
Bear would be fine living as an only dog or with another dog. Before coming to 4 Lucky Dogs she lived in a house with her littermates and at her foster home she lives with two dogs so is used to doing dog things with them. Bear loves people especially kids so she would also be ok having all of her owners’ concentration directed at her.
She is new to wearing a collar and being on a leash so is experiencing for the first time how to walk with them on. The adopter will need to continue to teach her this skill. She takes verbal correction easily such as firm tones. Bear does not bark however she is vocal with dainty, subtle whines.
Bear still needs one more set of shots and to be spayed before adoption can be considered as final. She can go to her permanent home now, but the adopter must be willing to take Bear to one of the rescue’s veterinary clinics in Riverview, Orlando, St. Petersburg, or Sarasota for these remaining vet needs.
Bear’s adoption fee is $620 and covers all shots including rabies, dewormer, microchip, and spay (which will take place after she is in the adopter’s home but paid for by 4LD). The average lifespan for this breed is 15 years. Therefore, Bear’s adopter will need to be prepared to care for her for around 14 more years so she will not have to move to a different home.
She is currently being fostered in the Plant City area.
***We are a foster-based rescue with no shelter or facility to view our dogs, and our address is a mailing address only. Please be patient as we are an all-volunteer rescue, and our rescue dogs are in various loving foster homes throughout West-Central Florida. As a general rule we try to limit our adoptions to within the state of FL. If interested in one of our dogs, please fill out a foster or adoption application at www.4luckydogs.org, and we will contact you by phone/text if we feel your application is the best fit out of the ones received.***
