Meet Loki!

Oh boy, do we have a dreamy guy for you! Loki is a stunning 4-year-old who has us all guessing about his breed. Could he be a Silver Lab mix? Maybe there's some Weimaraner in there? Whatever his lineage, one thing's for sure-he's a total catch! 💙

This sweet, silly boy is full of energy and charm. Loki knows some commands already ✅ and has shown he's eager to learn more. He was surrendered to the shelter when his family had to move, but they made sure to tell us how wonderful he is. According to his former people, Loki is friendly with everyone and everything. If you already have a dog at home, a meet-and-greet would be required to ensure it's a perfect match 🐶.

Loki can get a little jumpy when meeting new people, but with a little structure, he's sure to settle right into any home. He's proven himself to be a true gentleman at outreach events, riding calmly in the car and behaving beautifully around strangers and other dogs.

Thank you for your interest in adopting, please fill out the attached application to start the process once you see an animal you are interested in. Once reviewed we can set up a meeting, appointments are made daily from 12-4:30.

The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.

For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused, or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.

The Society is a not-for-profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.
