Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Hi there, I'm Jesse, a happy-go-lucky Dakota pup hailing from the Lake Traverse Indian Reservation. I was living in a small city impound where space was limited, and I was facing the heartbreaking possibility of euthanasia simply because there wasn't room for me. Thankfully, a kind rescue stepped in and saved me from that fate.
I'm about 6 months old and bursting with energy, just like any typical youngster. I'm a playful and social butterfly who gets along great with other dogs. I'm also curious about the resident cat, but I'm not a chaser – just a friendly sniffer. I've even met some kids and am learning to play gently with them. Sometimes my enthusiasm gets the best of me, and I might accidentally bump into the little ones a bit too enthusiastically.
I'm still a young pup and learning all the time, so I'm looking for a patient and active family who can provide me with plenty of exercise and training. I'm eager to learn and eager to please, so I'm sure I'll be a wonderful companion with a little guidance.
Jesse's adoption fee is $425 plus MN tax which covers his neuter, vaccines, microchip and any additional medical care he may have needed while in the rescue's care. We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website. www.northernlakesrescue.org

More about this rescue
Our Vision is to be a voice for those who are voiceless. We hear them with our hearts and give them a voice. Looking into the eyes of a rescued animal will speak volumes; watching those eyes light up will have an everlasting impact on you and the rescued animals.
We aren’t a typical rescue as we don’t take in dogs and put them in kennels until they’re adopted. All dogs we rescue are placed in loving foster homes that teach them to be the best dog they can be.
Our journey doesn’t end with adoption, either. We are here for you to support you in integrating your new member into your home, cheer new triumphs, and help with struggles.
