My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Isadora was a stray into one of our partner shelters. She was placed by them in a foster to adopt home, but was wreaking havoc by not minding baby gates or her manners.

Say it isn't so! Husky puppies are not like other breeds!

So she was returned to the shelter. That's when they asked us to help her and so we did! Isa is just as we thought, 100% Siberian Husky puppy. Derpy, energetic and stubborn. She's classic Sibe. She is crate trained and mostly housebroken. Although she doesn't like to use the bathroom in the snow, LOL. I mean don't you know, snow is for playtime, who has time to potty!!

She loves other dogs and would like a home with other young, playful dogs who can handle the Husky playstyle. (If you only have a senior dog in the home, please do not apply. She will torment them with her puppy antics!) If you do not have dogs at home you will need a solid plan to continue her canine socialization on a very regular basis. Isa will need a home with a fenced yard and people who aren't out of the home for more than a couple of hours each day. As with puppies, her new home will need to have lots of patience and structure.

Breed experience is required or an Adopter willing to enroll in our HELP training program.

Isa is spayed, current on her vaccines and microchipped. She's being fostered in MD. Anyone wishing to adopt should be willing to come to our rescue center for the adoption.

~~Husky Education And Rescue Team is a foster based rescue. Our dogs are in our foster homes all up and down the east coast. We do not have a facility in which you can visit. We find this a huge benefit because we learn our dogs and are able to educate our adopters on what it’s like to have them live in your home. Part of our process, once pre-approved, is to speak with the foster for the dog you’re interested in. If you’re still interested in adopting from our rescue the first step is to complete our adoption application online at www.huskyrescueteam.org/apply

Additional adoption info

Our application can be seen here: www.huskyrescueteam.org/apply

We screen all applicants by calling personal references, landlords, vet references, conducting a phone interview and doing a home inspection. We do allow for a two week trial period after the adoption contract is signed. We back our dogs for life.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have visiting hours.

More about this rescue

We are a 501(c) (3) nonprofit animal rescue organization. Our organization saves, rehabilitates, and rehomes Siberian Huskies (and other breeds of dogs) who are abandoned and are in kill shelters. We provide medical and behavioral services and rehome them to compatible families. We do this through volunteer efforts. Most of the dogs in need will come from the Southern States where the shelter kill rate is higher. We have a network of foster homes along the East Coast, while our adoption locations can be found in Maryland and New Jersey.
