We took Pokey in from some people we know who needed to rehome her. They were days away from taking her to a shelter and we wanted to try to avoid that. We have had her a few months now and she is a great companion. She is about 6 years old. She does great with people and children, she does not know a stranger as far as people are concerned. She is super cuddly and loves going on walks. She is a perfect family house dog. She has been through obedience school and did great.
However, she does struggle when meeting/being around other dogs. She does fine with our dog, it took a couple of days of working with her but they get along great now. Pokey inconsistently can be agressive with other dogs. She can handle being in the same room as other dogs but she does not always react well when other dogs are in her space. Sometimes it's fine, sometimes it's not. We have not been able to figure out a "trigger" in these situations. With consistent correcting she can be ok around other dogs.
