My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Macy and I am your new best friend. I'm a big cuddler and will let you know how much I love you all the time. I love to hang out and relax all day, and am also up for a walk whenever you want to go. If you have a backyard that gets some sunshine, just let me at it. I love to bathe in the sun.
Because I am so devoted, you will feel safe being around me no matter where we are. I have your back. I've been told I am the perfect companion. All I want is to make you happy.

I am potty trained and crate trained (it really helps me if you put a treat in the crate- carrots and cucumbers are some of my favorites).

I am so smart, so people like to teach me things. I know lots of commands like sit, free, place, down, and leave it- but sometimes I forget and need some practice. This practice is fun to me, so we will have a good time together.

I am very athletic and can even jump and climb over a 6 foot fence with ease if I want to get at whatever is on the other side. Squirrels and bunnies aren't safe if they dare to come near the fence- I won't stand for it.

I need to be the only dog in your life, because I
protect what's mine- like my bowl, my yard, and my bed- and I get jealous when other dogs come around- especially if I think they want to become your best friend too.

If I fit into your life, I will be the best decision you ever made. I hope that we are right for each other. I can't wait to see!

Macy is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.

Additional adoption info

Adopting from The Love Pit means gaining a family member. It means gaining a network of pit bull advocates, ready to support you and provide you with all of the resources we can. Most importantly, adopting from The Love Pit saves lives. When you adopt, you're saving the life of your own dog, opening space in their foster home for another shelter dog in need, and creating space in the shelter kennel for a dog whose life would have otherwise been on the line. Your thanks for all the good you've done? Lots of love and pit bull kisses to enjoy for years to come.

Go meet their pets

We have monthly adoption events at different locations in Dallas and Fort Worth which are announced on our social media pages and will also be posted on our website.

We will also set up an appointment with you to meet the dog of your choosing.

More about this rescue

We are a foster/volunteer based 501c3 nonprofit dog rescue in Dallas, Texas. Our mission is to reduce the number of homeless pit bull type dogs in shelters and on the streets through rescue, rehabilitation, education, and advocacy.

Our goal is to educate the public about a breed that often falls victim to breed specific legislation, discrimination, and cruelty and promote responsible pet ownership through spay/neuter initiatives, vaccinations, and training resources.
