My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Rooster – A Resilient and Loving Husky Looking for His Forever Home!  Rooster is a brave and affectionate 18-month-old male Husky who has already overcome incredible challenges in his young life.  This boy was sadly found abandoned and tied to a pole outside an animal control facility in Tennessee.  This sweet boy was tragically underweight (only 30 pounds!) and showed signs of past physical cruelty and trauma. His pelvis had been broken at an earlier time and healed in a way that the vet says cannot be fixed. It is best to give him supportive meds for any pain or arthritis in the future as he is certainly able to walk and run with just the slightest of limps. Despite his hardships, Rooster’s loving personality shines brightly, and he’s ready to bring joy and companionship to a family who will love him unconditionally.   It is so amazing that we see animals not hold grudges toward humans after we know they have suffered at the hands of some truly bad ones.   About Rooster:

✅ Age: 18 months
✅ Weight: Gaining steadily from his initial 30 lbs
✅ Personality: Sweet, playful, and eager to please
✅ Special Care: Requires daily gabapentin and carprofen due to previous injuries (broken hip/pelvis and tail that healed on their own). He would also benefit from therapies like acupuncture or red light therapy.  Why Rooster Is Special Active Yet Adaptable: Despite his past injuries, Rooster is full of life! He can go up and down stairs, hop into cars, and play with other dogs. His leg doesn’t slow him down —he’s a trooper!
Friendly and Social: Rooster loves everyone, including kids, men, and dogs of all genders.  Housebroken and Crate Trained: Rooster thrives on a structured routine and does beautifully in his crate. He’s learning “quiet time” and already responds to the command “go to bed.”
Toy Enthusiast of all things squeaky.   This boy is up for adoption to a very special family who will guide, train and support his special needs.   If you are interested please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com    We transport to the northeast as well as adopting to Tennessee where our rescue is based.

PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.com

More about this rescue

We are a group of dedicated rescue people who want to save as many dogs and cats from the local shelters before they are euthanized. On the average....there are only 1 out of 10 animals that get adopted from a shelter. We are dedicated to helping increase pet adoptions by offering a shelter animal a foster home to go to while awaiting an adoptive family to find them on our Petfinder website. Won't you please adopt a shelter animal? Or won't you please help us foster a shelter animal while we are looking for their perfect home? What a gift you can give a dog or cat by giving them a place to feel safe and secure....a forever home or a foster home. Won't you help us at Critter Companion Rescue give them a chance to have a life?
