My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Peaches, a sweet and resilient hound who has known more hardship than any dog should ever endure. While we may not know her exact age or weight, we estimate she’s a middle-aged adult, who’s seen more than her fair share of life’s struggles. She’s had many litters in the past, and it’s clear that her heart has always been filled with love, even if she’s never known a real home to call her own.

Peaches was either dumped in Kentucky or showed up on a property there some time ago, and since then, she’s been left to live outdoors, surviving in harsh conditions with little to no human care. The shelter that took her in is located outdoors as well, and with temperatures plunging below freezing, she’s in urgent need of warmth and safety.

Despite her rough past, Peaches is a gentle soul who gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Her heart is as kind as they come, and all she wants now is a chance to feel safe, loved, and cherished inside a warm home. She’s tired of the cold winds, the harsh weather, and the loneliness. She’s ready for a family to call her own—a family that will show her what it means to be loved and cared for.

If you think Peaches could be the perfect companion for you, please consider applying to adopt her at https://peace4paws.org/adoption-application. She deserves a second chance at life and the warmth of a loving home.

More about this rescue

Peace4paws is a 501 (c) 3 non profit public charity centered in Northern New Jersey. Through our foster home system, we are able to support the rehoming and adoption of dogs from kill shelters as well as facilities of research and related fields. Founded in 2007, our initial mission focused on supporting sanctuary and forever homes for animals retired from use in research and related fields. In the past few years we have broadened our scope of rescue. We continue to help our own retired research animals and independent sanctuaries but also save shelter dogs. We are able to do this work through the efforts of our volunteer network and generous donors. Please see our website or facebook page "Peace4Paws" to meet our adoptable dogs, success stories or volunteer opportunities. We organize fundraising events centered around yoga, music, health, or animal friendly activities. We are also involved with student outreach and education. We would love to work with you.
