Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
From her foster: Ginger is from Missouri and is settling in well this week. Her best attribute is hands down, her snuggle ability - she is off the charts good. And did you notice her wrinkly forehead and adorable ears? So cute and expressive.
She is very social and wants to be in the mix with her foster family (two adults) or our resident dog. We feel she would do best in a house with someone who is home a lot (hello velcro dog) or with a dog companion that needs a friend. She's timid at first and will need continued help to build some confidence. Slow introductions to small kiddos (she's met 4-8 year olds) and other dogs will be needed, but she's warmed up well to everyone she has met so far. We do not know if she's okay with cats but my guess would be yes.
Her potty training is A+ on a schedule - she does her business right away which is awesome in this polar vortex we're experiencing. She's food motivated, wants to please, and easily redirected. She hasn't gotten into things she's not supposed to (i.e. shoes) and goes straight for dog toys.
She's been on a few walks and we plan to do many more once the weather is improved - she will need some leash training but will get there with a bit of work.
She has all of her meals in her crate and we are slowly working on crate training, but this is an area that will need some work with her future family, for sure.

More about this rescue
The Bond Between is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that focuses on the bond between humans and animals. We were founded in 2009 as Secondhand Hounds. Since then, we have rescued over 29,000 dogs and cats with the help of thousands of fosters, volunteers, and supporters in our community. Our organization has grown from a rescue to a first-in-its-class animal wellbeing organization... now The Bond Between! We continue to provide safe shelter, proper veterinary care, and daily necessities for animals while working hard to help them build a bond with humans. We also focus on supporting the bonds that already exist between people and pets with our pet food shelf, respite foster care program, and focus on social services.
We wake up every morning saying YES to connecting people and animals, caring for them, and helping them fill each other’s hearts.
You can help support us today by donating, fostering, volunteering, or sharing The Bond Between.
