My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Stella, an approximately 3 year old female DSH cat who was brought in as an owner surrender with her housemate, Lunesta and Lunesta's 3 kittens. Her owners reason for surrender was "I am thinking of getting a dog soon, and I don't know how the cats will do". Stella and Lunesta took a couple of weeks to settle in and be ok here but are now very friendly and sociable and ready to find their forever homes. The girls aren't bonded so they could leave separately (or together, if you are looking for two!). Stella uses the litterbox here, is now spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and felv/fiv negative. Any adult age 18 or older may complete an adoption application and be considered as a candidate for adopting a dog or cat from the Kendall County Animal Control.
Applications may take up to 24 hours to be approved.

The fees for adoption are as follows:

Puppies (Less than 6 Months) $115.00
Dogs (Over 6 Months) $100.00
Cats (Over 3 Months) $70.00
Kittens (Less than 3 Months) $95.00

The adoption fee for a dog includes: a microchip, spay/neuter and bordetella, distemper and rabies vaccination.
The cat adoption fee includes: Distemper shot, spay/neuter and microchip.

More about this shelter

Kendall County Animal Control is the county agency responsible for enforcement of the state statutes governing rabies control in domestic companion animals. The State of Illinois requires that all dogs are vaccinated against rabies by a licensed veterinarian. Compliance with this law is monitored through the issuance of rabies tags for all dogs residing in the county. All dogs are required to wear their rabies tags when off of the owner's property. If a pet is lost, rabies tags also provide an excellent means of identifying your pet.

Kendall County Animal Control also enforces the county's ordinance that prohibits dogs from running at large in unincorporated residential subdivisions, investigates reports of animal bites, and will pick up contained stray dogs in unincorporated Kendall County during operating hours. Stray and owner released cats and dogs may also be brought to the facility during business hours. Cats and dogs are available for adoption at the facility.
