Brand of flea prevention the pet is currently using & date of last dose:
Current Location, City, & State: North Fort Myers, FL
Must be rehomed by date: ASAP
Reason for rehoming: Delilah was taken in by current family to help the original owner. The original owner chose to give up custody due to financial difficulty and work schedule. Delilah is big and energetic. Her size and energy level’s are a bit more than the family can handle. Current family works a lot of hours. She needs to be in a home that can give her the attention and activity level that she deserves.
Does the pet like other dogs: Yes, she currently lives with two other dogs
Does the pet like cats: Yes. There is a cat in the home that she does not bother. There are cats in the neighborhood and she does not give them any issue.
Does the pet like small children: Never been around small children but would not recommend due to her size and energy level. Older children would probably be ideal. She has played with the neighbors 12 year old granddaughter with no issues.
Describe the pets personally: She is loving and energetic. Will play enthusiastically with other dogs. If she is by herself she will lay down and snuggle with you. She walks on a leash. Knows basic commands. Loves to play. She is crate trained. Does not chew furniture or shoes. She is house broken. Travels great in the car without being restrained. No issues with going to the vet. Fine with nail trims. She will pull back her paw slightly but no other issues.
Pets like’s & dislikes: Delilah is fed in her crate and will occasionally give a slight growl if bothered by one of the other dogs. But does not show outward aggression. Loves the water. Loves a bath. Loves toys and bones. Will dig holes if left unsupervised for a long period of time in the yard.
Any additional info you think an adopter should know: She needs someone who can help burn her energy. She is loving and has a heart of gold. She is trainable. The current owner has put some time into leash training and Delilah listens great! She does not jump up on people. She is gentle when taking food and treats from your hand.

More about this rescue
We are a small, foster-based rescue organization located in Southwest Florida. Being small helps us give more one-on-one attention to individual dogs and their needs. Rescued dogs are kept in our homes and treated as our own. Herding dogs are unique. They are highly intelligent and require much of the owner’s attention. The dogs are evaluated, when they come into the rescue, for any temperament and health issues. Then they are given basic obedience, socialization and rehabilitation as it is necessary.
It is our sole purpose to find forever homes for these loving, wonderful dogs that have been discarded through no fault of their own. All adopted dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, micro-chipped, and on flea and heartworm preventative.
