Meet Shimmer! This cute little pup has been through a lot in her short life, and is ready to be treated like the princess she is. Shimmer gets along great with other dogs and with cats, and loves to play with toys. She is still very cautious of people and needs a home with someone who will be gentle and patient and understand it is going to take weeks or even months before she is totally comfortable.
Shimmer is doing well with house-training, though is still having some accidents.
She is in a foster home with cats, a large dog, another small dog, and three children.
If you are interested in her, we would be glad to put you in touch with her foster home.

The first step to adopting a cat or dog from Animal Friends Alliance is to fill out an adoption questionnaire. You can do this online!

The next step is to pick out a cat or dog! Check out our adoptable cats and adoptable dogs for pictures and short descriptions or come into the shelter at our Taft Hill campus. We also have adoptable cats at many offsite locations.

Note: not all available cats and dogs reside at our campuses. Some are at off-site adoption partners or in foster homes. If you are interested in a particular cat or dog, please call our shelter at (970) 484-8516 to find out about their current status and location.

We do not ship animals. You are required to come and meet your new addition prior to adoption so that we can ensure a good match.

Please note that we will make a copy of the adopters’ State ID card, Driver’s License or passport at the time of adoption.

Our spay/neuter clinic performs surgeries on both cats & dogs, and we also offer low-cost vaccination clinics every week.

Our organization's goal is to do everything in our power to prevent euthanasia due to 'homelessness'.
