My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Greetings, Nice Hoomans. My name is Emerald Annie, for my green eyes and just because Annie is a nice name for a pretty girl, my foster mom says. She has been very nice to what was a very scared baby, starving and not having anything good happen with peeples, until she took me in. It took a while, but now I really like all the fun things that happen in a house. And my favorite is riding on shoulders. I don't want to miss what you can see! And it is fun to feel so tall! My other favorite thing is lying on warm laps. I have often been called a heating pad. What does that mean? I have also been told that I have chinchilla hair. I hope that is good. Do you have a brush? I love quiet grooming time too. If you do your hair, Lady Hooman, can you please do mine too? If you will throw treats for me, I will chase them all day!! And I have to tell you that I like other kitties, but not doggies. Sorry, but things happened when I was very small. And I am also told that I am a fancy girl. I am a fluffy Russian Blue mix. My foster mom says I must have swallowed a squeak toy and giggles when I meow. I don't mind. I am a little girl and it's just how I talk! My second birthday is in late March. If you want to pick a day, that's fine. If I can find a loving, patient hooman to call my own, we will celebrate every day. And please remember, I was rescued as a feral. I will need time to trust and get to know you. Thank you for reading my story. I hope you think I might be just the sillly, squeaky, adventurous friend you are looking for. Are you?

More about this rescue

We are primarily a feral or stray cat rescue organization, dedicated to ending the killing of feral cats by local animal controls and shelters. This is accomplished by reducing the number of cats using TNRM (trap, neuter, vaccinate, return, maintain) methods. In the process, some abandoned stray friendly cats and many kittens come into our system who need homes. We are not a shelter, so these are all fostered in our homes, making them really special cats. Volunteers are always needed for trapping, feeding colonies, education, and fostering. Call (512) 709-7020. And of course, donations are always welcome.
