My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Inez is a funny loud character. She is very vocal about her wants and needs, is very energetic and super lively.
My home has a medium yard that can`t sustain her anymore, we are often busy and don`t have time to help her exercise, the most we can do is play fetch or train for a bit because of how much we move around due to being busy. She loves gnawing on things, and has destroyed some bins but that`s just her being really energetic, she`s a character as I`ve said. She is not too social as she doesn`t get to go out often. We have been taking care of some family members chihuahuas and they get along with her fine but she gets so roudy that she can be a bother to them. She always wants to play, to move, to run. When people are over she is very timid very shy, so she`s pretty scared of new faces.I am looking to rehome as we just can`t keep up with her and I want her to have the best life she can get with people who can be there and love her all the time. I can`t give her the love she requires since I`m always busy, always away. She needs people who can train her, who can love her. People who have the time to be caring for her and giving her jobs and things to do.

She`s never bitten anyone, she`s nibbled on my hand a few times because I had treats and is so food driven she can`t help but dig in on every one of her meals but never has she actually bitten anyone.
She`s a malinois, she nibbles and chomps but never has she bitten directly. Please know she is not good with cats, I have a cat and she has grabbed him and layed on top of him so no cats around her. For now she doesn`t need to be around other dogs, she needs to be introduced slowly since I don`t know how she`ll react. She`s never been around many strangers and dogs. We took her on a walk once and she has barked or stared at people walking by, she stops walking and just stands there. She is very nervous. Ps: watch out because she jumps with her paws out. One time she got on her kennel and jumped on my back, knocking me over, she thinks she`s still a puppy. She is also allergic to Iams dog food, I have no clue what it is, possibly corn?
It`s the only kibble that makes her scratch herself for a whole day.

Additional adoption info

In the Central Valley, we have an over abundance of homeless and unwanted pets. There are simply too many companion animals and not enough homes! But you can help. One way to start putting an end to pet overpopulation is to adopt your next pet from the Central California SPCA. In doing so, you immediately give a home to an animal that didn’t have one, and you reduce the overall number of homeless pets in our community.

You are saving a life and enhancing your own. You are also helping to support the nearly 17,000 animals that come through our doors each year.

Please note that these are sheltered, homeless animals that are not always perfect in every way. They may need extra time to adjust or have unforeseen behavioral or medical problems. While we strive for successful placement by providing as healthy, well socialized animals as possible, we can only provide any history we have received, collected, or observed from staff or volunteers during their stay. More about this shelter

As the premier animal welfare organization in California’s Central Valley since 1895, we are committed to leading and serving our community of animals and people by providing programs and services which serve all the stages of an animal’s life. These programs include Adoptions, Rescue, Humane Investigations, Foster Care, Owner Surrenders, Outreach, Humane Education, Veterinary Services, Spay/Neuter programs, and many other Pet Services.

The CCSPCA also assumes responsibility, by contract, to perform the Animal Control and Leash Law services for the City of Fresno dating back to September 1951.

The modern facilities and our caring staff offer safe refuge, nourishment, medical care, and love to every animal in our Animal Center.

We are not federally, state, or locally funded and do not receive aid from any national organization (including the ASPCA). The CCSPCA owns its own land, buildings, and equipment purchased with privately donated funds. Our funds come from our loyal supporters, allowing us to provide many vital services to our community.

Donate a bed!

Please help us to make our shelter dogs and cats more comfortable while waiting for homes. We still don't have enough Kuranda beds for all of our kennels. We need them in all sizes. If you would like to donate a bed so a dog or cat can sleep in proper comfort, please click here.
