Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Missy is a very sweet, gentle calico kitty. She loves hanging around with her people and is currently fostered with 3 dogs and a feline kitty. She was very hesitant and scared of the dogs at first, but within a few days she was walking around with them and doing her own thing. My dogs are cat savvy so know to keep their space if needed. We had a birthday party this past weekend with a house full of people, and Missy just sat in the middle of the circle without a care or worry about all the chaos going on around her. She is playful, energetic, sweet, curious, and will come running when you call her name. She loves her wet food twice a day and will remind you...lol. She does have the sweetest softest meow, it is the cutest. Missy is litter box trained with no issues, she uses it like a champ!
She loves climbing and sleeping up in her cat tower and looking out the window. Her second favorite toy is the kitty wand with a bell attached to the toy, she is a very acrobatic kitty and will fly through the air trying to catch it. If my kitty wasn't so dominate and BIG I would be keeping her myself, but I feel she would do best in a home where another kitty friend wants to play, cuddle, and live in harmony. She would be fine alone as well. She is such a love. Missy has been around my grandkids and handled by them a lot. She has never used her claws on me or the kids.
Missy is 5 months old and 5 lbs. All cats have had a vet exam, are up to date on vaccinations, have been given a dewormer and treated for fleas and ear mites if needed. If you are interested in meeting this cat please complete the adoption application on our website at https://safehandsrescue.org/adoption-process/ and then we can contact you about setting up a meeting.

We only adopt out animals to homes within 60 miles of the Twin Cities. Our adoption process begins with the return of our pre-adoption form, available on our website. After reviewing your application a meeting is scheduled between you and the pup, sometimes in the fosters home or at a neutral dog friendly place. If any resident dogs are in your home, it is recommended that the pups meet at this time. After the meeting a home visit is scheduled and if everything goes well with the visit the adoption is finalized at that time. A home visit by one of Safe Hands representatives is REQUIRED prior to finalizing any adoption and we must meet all members of the household where the pup will be living sometime during the adoption process.

More about this rescue
Safe Hands is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization dedicated to saving lives and finding forever homes for stray, abandoned and surrendered dogs in high kill shelters. Of great importance to us is to reduce the stray population and need for healthy animal euthanasia through spay/neuter programs, education, and promotion of respect for the furry creatures that share our lives.
We are a small, no-kill, volunteer run organization. All of our dogs listed are in foster homes waiting to be adopted and because of this, we get to know the dogs' personalities very well and use this information to match them to an appropriate home. We do not have a physical shelter.
This rescue is not funded by public funds nor does it receive many donations so it is dependent on adoption fees to keep operating. We have a great need for foster homes. If you are interested in providing foster care, and live within an hour of the Twin Cities, please e-mail us
Donations ALWAYS needed are: dog crates, puppy pee pads, natures miracle (for pet stain removal), Nutrisource brand puppy and dog food, Lysol disinfecting wipes, paper towels, large clean towels, dog toys, leashes, collars and gas cards to help with our transports.
