My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Buckle was one of many rabbits dumped in a field and left to survive on their own. Not an easy task for a domestic rabbit. Fortunately someone spotted the rabbits and we got them her before they were injured or worse. Off to foster Buckle went to get proper food, attention and care. Here's what his foster family told us about him: At first he was really shy but after two weeks he's much more outgoing. He was comfortable around our dog after several days. He's mellow, calm and prefers attention when he's ready for it. He's been perfect with his litter box and we discovered he fetches! We'll toss a small plastic ball to him, he picks it up and brings it to us. It's super cute. Like most rabbits he doesn't like to be picked up but he'll sometimes stay on our laps for petting for a few minutes. We've been combing him to help him have new fur grow in. He tolerates it for a very short time and it helps with our bonding. Buckle definitely deserves a second chance. He needs a quiet home and a loving and patient family. Could yours be the one?

Buckle is one of a large group of rabbits that came to Marin Humane after being abandoned outside. It was clear he and his buddies were previously housed in unsanitary conditions, leaving their fur matted and dirty. Thankfully fur regrows, and now that he is receiving proper care and grooming his soft, his beautiful cream-colored coat is starting to replace the old yellow stained hair.
