My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sand is the sweetest one and a half year old brown tabby cat, and she is all kitten. Sand is full of energy and ready to go. Sand has not met a cat or kitten that she doesn't like. She adores playing with other cats and kittens and her cat toys. She is good friends with her 8 month old sister Juneau and also gets along well with her 2 and 1/2 year old Mom Ketchikan. Sand would love to be adopted with a family member. On a typical day Sand can be found racing around the house with her foster siblings playing to her hearts content. Sand needs another cat to thrive. She is a chatty cat and will tell you when she needs something.

Sand loves springs, lasers, feather toys, pom poms and chasing her own tail. Sand loves her animal companions and her humans as well. Sand follows her chosen human around (she loves everyone) and will put her head in your head to be loved. She has been around other cats and kittens, dogs and kids. Sand is an all around cat and would do well in a home with kids, cats, or a cat savvy dog with proper introductions.

Sand is used to sleeping in the room with her human and typically sleeps at the foot of the bed, in a cat bed, or cuddled up with another cat or kitten. Sand is a big fan of open doors and will often demand that indoor doors remain open so she can go out or in or back out again or back in again (this does not apply to outside doors).

Sand typically likes to have her feet firmly planted on the ground or in a cat tree. She is working on being comfortable being picked up and can be picked up but will also startle easily when off the ground. Sand is ready to go and is looking for the perfect forever home where she can be loved and play all day with her human and animal friends.

All of our cats come spayed or neutered, microchipped, and with age-appropriate vaccinations. Young cats have an adoption fee of $175. If you would like to apply to be a forever home for this cat, please fill out a statement of interest at www.alternativehumanesociety.com. Unless otherwise indicated, all our cats and kittens are best suited for indoor-only life.
