Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
A soulful six-year-old Doberman Pinscher and German Shepherd mix from Brentwood, CA, who’s a striking blend of grace, devotion, and a little bit of sass. Penny stands out with her rich red-and-brown coat, accented by splashes of white, and her captivating golden eyes that seem to peer straight into your heart. At 55 pounds, she’s a medium-sized bundle of sensitivity, loyalty, and love—all wrapped up in a quirky, wiggly package!
Penny is more than just a dog; she’s a companion with a gift for understanding emotions. If you’re feeling blue, she’ll gently place her paw on your chest and meet your gaze with an intensity that says, “I’ve got you.” She’s athletic and graceful—even with a missing toe and a touch of arthritis. She adores her people and thrives on cuddles, belly rubs, and being your shadow throughout the day.
This clever girl knows a whole host of commands, including “sit,” “down,” “park it,” “come,” and even a charming “how do you do.” Penny loves her “soccer” games, chewing on Benebone toys, and accompanying you on walks—though her excitement on leash means she’s a work-in-progress when it comes to doggy interactions. With slow, thoughtful introductions, however, Penny has shown she can befriend other dogs and would likely benefit from the calming presence of a compatible canine buddy.
Penny’s sensitivities extend beyond her emotions; she has allergies that require special care, including a tailored diet, allergy-controlling medications, and occasional Cytopoint shots. While she’s a pro at snuggling and being your constant companion, she’s wary of strangers and will need a family who understands how to introduce her to new people with care and patience. She’s also recently started showing some anxiety when left alone, so a pet parent who can provide consistent companionship is a must.
This sensitive, intuitive girl is looking for a new loving home where she can be cherished, understood, and cared for as she enters the next phase of her life. Do you have the time, experience, and love to welcome Penny into your heart? If so, she’s ready to return that love tenfold, paw on your chest and all!
