Looking for a new buddy! I’m Benjamin, but you can call me Benny, as some of my friends already do. I’m an energetic, and friendly young guy who loves to get outside for some play time. I enjoy running around in the yard, sniffing out all the latest news on my walks, chasing toys and balls, and polishing off a lick mat after my adventures. I am friendly and treat motivated, and I would do really well with an attentive owner who’s willing to spend time with me and continue my training. The Animal Welfare League of Alexandria is an independent, local, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and recognized by Charity Navigator as a Four Star Charity. Operating the Vola Lawson Animal Shelter, an open-admission facility and Alexandria’s only animal shelter, the League provides care for more than 3,500 animals every year, including strays, lost pets, local wildlife, rescue animals, and pets surrendered by their owners. Serving the community since 1946, the League has contracted with the City of Alexandria to provide animal care, control, and sheltering services since 1989. The AWLA is committed to ending animal homelessness, promoting animal welfare, and serving as an educational resource for the community.
