My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there, I’m Claire, a four-year-old German Shepherd with a heart full of love and a mind ready to learn. Life hasn’t always been smooth sailing for me, but I’m hopeful that the right person or family will come along and show me what true belonging feels like. Maybe that’s you?

I’m a sweet and calm girl who loves to take it easy. My favorite pastimes include lounging around, enjoying a good brush or bath, and quietly observing the world around me. I can be a little shy at first—new situations and people can be a bit scary—but with a gentle approach and a calm environment, I warm up quickly and become a loyal companion. I’m great with older kids who understand how to give me space when I need it, and I’ve done well with other dogs in the past.

Now, I’ll admit that car rides aren’t my favorite. They make me a little nervous, but with patience and some positive reinforcement, I’m sure I can learn to feel more comfortable. It’s the same with other aspects of my life—I thrive with people who are experienced with shepherds or herding breeds, who understand that I have a working mind and a sensitive heart. I’d love to be in a home where we can go on walks, learn new tricks, or even just play games that keep my brain busy. It makes me feel useful and happy!

I already know a few things, like “sit” and “in” for going into my kennel or home, so I’m off to a great start in the manners department. I’ll do best with someone who respects my boundaries and helps me build confidence through encouragement, not pressure. My anxiety is just part of who I am, but with the right support, I know I can thrive.

If you’re looking for a calm, intelligent, and loving companion who will repay your kindness with endless devotion, then I think we’re a perfect match. Let’s meet soon—I can’t wait to start our journey together!
