Here is Little Bit, a beautiful black and white tuxedo! She loves to greet her humans with affection and enjoys being petted from the top of her head to the tip of her tail. Little Bit loves to play and when it comes to finding a spot for a nap, her favorites are your lap (if available) or a cozy area in the sun. She loves to “make pancakes” showing you how happy she is in your presence and enjoys eating her meals when you are around. Little Bit hasn’t had much opportunity to be around other cats. She has a birthdate of 1/7/2024, spayed and up to date on vaccinations. Little Bit is looking for an indoor home with toys and a family to love. She would be a great companion or family cat with her gentle disposition.

The animals in our care urgently need a permanent home where someone can provide individual loving care and attention. Please consider adopting your family pet from the Humane Society of McCormick County. We require that you sign an adoption agreement wherein you commit to take proper care of the pet. The adoption fee is $125 for dogs and $65 for cats. Every animal has been given all appropriate vaccinations. Every animal that is old enough has been spayed/neutered.

More about this shelter

The Humane Society of McCormick County is a private, non-profit, no-kill organization formed in September 2000. We are staffed entirely by volunteers and we operate the only shelter in the county. Our rural county is a very poor county in South Carolina.

McCormick County does not allocate any money for a county or city shelter and we do not have any veterinarians in our county.

We are all our county has for any help with animals.

We approach this problem through our "No more litters... fix your critters" low cost spay/neuter program. We altered a total of 272 dogs and cats in 2020! (95 McCormick County owned dogs and cats free of charge to those who qualified for it, 119 HSMC rescues, and 58 trap-neuter/spay-return-monitor.)
