Hi there. My name is Ziggy, and if I'm being honest, I'm really hoping to find my forever best friend. Life hasn't exactly been a walk in the park for me so far, with a few too many changes of address. But even with all that behind me, my heart is still full of hope that my special, patient, and confident person is out there somewhere, just waiting to meet me.

Because of my past, it takes me a little while to truly open up and trust new people. I need someone who understands this and is willing to give me the time and patience I need to feel safe and secure. A true friend, you know?

My foster mom says I might be a little misunderstood, but deep down, I’m really just a big goofball. I do have a few specific needs when it comes to finding the right home. I’m looking for someone experienced with rescue dogs—someone who understands that no dog is perfect and respects the importance of boundaries. It’s also important that this person isn’t easily intimidated during our adjustment period together.

I know I may not be the ideal fit for everyone, but once I learn to trust you and settle in, I promise to be a wonderful companion and a fun buddy!

I enjoy going for walks, and when we're back home, I like to hang out near my person. Oh, and playing! Fetch and tug-a-war are definitely up there on my list of favorite things. I'm already housebroken and know how to use a doggie door like a pro. Plus, I'm a pretty good home security system – I'll definitely let you know when someone's at the door! I also sleep soundly through the night, and as long as I have a good stash of toys, I can happily keep myself entertained when you need some quiet time.

If you're looking for a loyal friend who might take a little time to show you just how much love they have to give, maybe that friend is me. I'm really hoping to find a warm and loving home where I can finally put down roots and share all the good boy I have inside. Could you be the one?

To meet me, please email my foster parent at krisluvzdogz888@aol.com.   Please include your background with dogs and some information about your household.

More about this rescue

Arizona Small Dog Rescue is a non profit registered 501(c)3 no kill rescue shelter. We are a group of volunteers who have dedicated our lives to rescuing and saving homeless, unwanted, abandoned, neglected, and abused small dogs. We save most of our animals from kill shelters around the valley, but also accept owner surrenders and stray surrenders. Owner surrender fee’s vary depending on space and availability. We spay/neuter, vaccinate, medically examine, microchip, and evaluate and/or socialize all dogs that come into our rescue before placing up for adoption to pre-screened homes. We rescue many dogs every week and always have a wide variety of personalities and breeds available who would be a perfect fit for any family and any home.
