My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Peacock, a delightful hound mix who’s ready to bring endless joy to your home! This adorable tan and white puppy is not only a cuteness overload with his sweet, freckled face, but he’s
also a smart little guy with lots of puppy energy. At about 12 lbs now, he's still a small guy growing into a big boy handsome body (with ears to die for). He sleeps soundly in his crate and is well on his way to being a great family dog. Peacock is loving, playful, and eager to learn, making him the perfect companion for active families or anyone looking for a furry friend to share adventures with. Don’t miss the chance to adopt this sweet boy— contact Saving Grace to meet him!
*Weekend Host feedback: "We hosted Peacock this weekend, and for a puppy, we were so surprised by how easy he was!
He adapted so well to our other 3 dogs, either his size or larger. He adapted to each of their playing styles, and when they were done playing, he took the cue to take a nap. He was not exposed to kids or cats , but he did great with our dogs. His ears flop in every direction, emphasizing his cute little facial expressions! And his tongue sticks out about half of the time, it especially makes a goofy appearance during nap time when the whole thing flops out. He also loves to eat!! He gets very excited and is sure to tell you all about how excited he is"!

Additional adoption info

All puppies and dogs at Saving Grace are crate trained, have been spayed/neutered, are up to date on their vaccines, are on heartworm preventative and have been microchipped. Their adoption fee is $350.00. Each has been carefully screened for disposition and temperament in order to provide your home with a safe companion that will enjoy life as your new family member.

If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, please complete an Adoption Application at our website: savinggracenc.org

Sending an Application does not commit you to an adoption, it simply provides us with background information on potential homes. Please review our Adoption Contract before sending an Application to ensure that you will be able to provide the requirements stated in the contract. The Contract must be signed at the time of adoption.

Saving Grace is a small, non-profit 501-C3 organization operated by volunteers only. Most of our animals come from rural animal control shelters where lack of space and resources limit their time and adoption possibilities. Thank you for choosing Saving Grace! We look forward to helping you find your new companion and family member.

More about this rescue

Located in central North Carolina and officially established in 2004, Saving Grace has placed over 15,000 dogs into homes since its inception. These dogs were from rural animal control facilities with little resources and who would otherwise not had the opportunity to receive necessary veterinary care and a chance at adoption. While we have grown significantly over the years and have been successful growing our numbers we still see many great dogs miss the opportunity of adoption.

We have a large variety of dogs varying in breed, size, shape, age and needs and would love to work with you to find you a great dog companion while providing a dog in need with a loving home. Our dogs are chosen based on temperament and socialization. We get some of the most charming, unique mix breeds as well as some striking purebreds. Our dogs come from rural, underserved areas and while they may have little experience as an indoor family member, they have the temperament and personality that is sure to bring much love and appreciation to their new home. Most have started their crate training while in our program. Veterinary care including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test, vaccinations, monthly preventatives are provided prior to each adoption. If you would like more information about adopting one of our dogs, please email savinggrace@savinggracenc.org
