My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Quick details:
* 9-month-old, 50lb, neutered male
* Loves people!
* Likes other dogs, gets overstimulated when playing
* Very quiet and well-behaved in his kennel
* Rides quietly in the car
* Loves food and treats
* Tolerant of vet exam handling
* Active, energetic, happy boy!

Rhett is around 10 months old, 50lb, neutered male, originally found as a stray in SC. We pulled him from the urgent list and he made it to NH on 11/17.

Rhett would make a great walking, jogging, or hiking partner. He's constantly ecstatic to see you and in a good mood ALL the time. This young, energetic boy is super friendly, affectionate, and is pumped to go do all the things. Despite his energy, Rhett is quiet and composed for car rides and when hanging out in his kennel suite.

Rhett is mostly dog friendly. But he plays rough and can get overstimulated and grumbly in off-leash play/running situations. He hasn't shown any reactivity around other dogs though, even when getting barked at while on a walk. He IS cat-friendly and can live in a home with dog-savvy cats!! He's solid, strong, and blocky, and doesn't know this at all when he's happily bouncing around, so no young kiddos in the home would be best for now - he has been totally fine with teens.

Rhett grew up in a shelter, so he will need understanding and continued guidance on manners and living in a house at first. He's now potty trained but will likely need a refresher once in a home with a new routine, though he picks this up very quickly. He's very treat-motivated and super trainable!

We're currently avoiding chicken for Rhett's food and treats as it causes stomach upset. He seems to have a sensitive stomach/GI system.
