Quick details:
* 1.5-year-old, 35lb, spayed female
* Likes company of other dogs but shy at first, then will run and play with them
* Very timid with new people
* Cannot be crated
* Potty trained
* Active, sweet, petite girl!
Iris is a local pup from NH who arrived on 1/4. She's originally from TN where she was found as a stray with her sisters at 5 months old. She came from a home where the resident dog was attacking Iris and did not accepted her in their home after several months. Though heartbreaking, Iris's owner realized the situation was not fair to Iris, as she had become terrified of the other dog she lived with.
Iris does enjoy the company of other dogs and running around and playing with them, but is shy at first and can take awhile to warm up. Iris also takes a bit to warm up to people (fearful but not aggressive), but she is a total love once she does. She gives sweet kisses, loves to cuddle, sit on your lap, and sleep by your head or feet. Due to her timidness with new people, a home with adults and older children only is best for now, since young kiddos might scare her. She'll need an adopter who is willing to do a few meet and greets to let Iris get comfortable.
She is anxious and distressed when crated and will injure herself trying to escape. Due to this, her owner was leaving Iris loose inside the house when gone and reports that Iris will chew shoes or clothes that aren't put away, but leaves everything else alone and doesn't have any accidents.
