Volunteer Notes: I took Twinkle out for doggie day out and this is what I learned about her.
If you are looking for an older puppy that still has a ton of energy, Twinkle is for you. I had the privilege of taking sweet, energetic Twinkle (A560545) out of the shelter for the day. For 10 years old, she is very strong and athletic. She would be perfect for an active family. Took her for a 4 mile walk, and she doesn`t stop. She does pull on the leash, so she will need a little more training. She loves treats and is treat motivated. She knows basic commands and will sit, lay down and shake for treats. She loves her treats so much she will jump up to get some off the counter. She tried getting in the pool a couple times but it was very cold. So on a hot summer day she would love to swim. I think she`ll do wonderful with an active family where she can run around and play. She never stopped, even in the house she stayed very active playing with the stuffed animals. (Hard to get a good picture) Her favorite thing to do is tug of war. She will pick up a stuffed animal and bring it to you to play. Even if there`s no stuffed animal she brought me her leash to play tug of war. Once she finds the perfect family she can learn to settle down.

Their adoption process
Additional adoption info
Orange County Animal Services has hundreds of adoptable pets at any given time. We operate on a first come, first serve basis to give everyone an equal opportunity.
We strive to place every pet in a furever home, which is why the first step of adoption from our shelter is coming to our location and interacting with the pet of your choice. Adoption applications can be filled out at our shelter once interaction has taken place and are not available online.
Once your application is approved, we will ask for payment of the adoption fee.
Standard adoption fees are $55 for dogs and $40 for cats. Ferrets are $40 to adopt. Pocket pets like rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters are $15 to adopt.
We ask interested adopters to please come prepared with photo identification.
We welcome adopters from out of county and state, but do not transport animals. Interaction is still required as part of the adoption process.
