Hi, I'm Benny. I'm a lovable one-year-old brown dog with a gentle temperament. I am house-trained and well-behaved. I'd be a great companion for any household! I have a sweet disposition, but I am shy and take time to warm up to new people and surroundings. There are kids in my foster home and I love to be around them and the resident dog. I wag my tail in excitement when they come into the room! I go in my kennel overnight and when my foster family is away. I never make a peep!
Even though I'm reserved for now, my foster family says my quiet and gentle personality makes me a joy to be around. My calm behavior, especially around kids and fellow dogs, will make me a perfect family pet! Please apply, I cannot wait to meet you!
***FOSTER TO ADOPT*** Benny is Heartworm positive and is currently going through treatment. Once his treatment is complete, the adoption can be finalized. Once his adoption is finalized, it is the responsibility of the adoptive family to get a Heartworm test every 2 months to follow up on his treatment progress until he has a negative result which can take 2-9 months. During these months, you will need to make sure his heart rate is not elevated due to high energy play or exercise. Benny will also need continued use of monthly Heartworm prevention going forward. These medical needs will be the responsibility of the adopter. If you are interested in adopting Benny, please fill out an adoption application.
-------------------------------------------- All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption.
Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.

The mission of Warrior Dog Rescue is to save the dogs that are homeless, left abandoned in shelters, are surrendered by their owners, those that are being abused and neglected, and those that are left wandering. We are committed to providing them the medical care they need, helping them to overcome their past by providing them loving, educated foster homes, finding them their perfect forever home by means of a thorough adoption process, and guiding them on their journey into their new life. They all deserve a “good dog life… every single one of them.”
Warrior Dog Rescue will be a model rescue by partnering with overcrowded shelters that need to make room for more abandoned dogs. We will continue to educate others about responsible dog ownership in regards to safety, spay/neuter, nutrition, obedience, socializing, abuse, and neglect. We acknowledge that we will have a role in this industry to take the lead on providing awareness to others in the community and across the country. Every dog will know what it feels like to be loved till the end of their life.
