My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How Charlie arrived:
Charlie was brought in by a community member.

At SDHS:
Charlie has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered and is now ready for his new home!

Why Charlie might be the one for you:
Charlie is on the lookout for his new best friend-could it be you? This wiggly, happy boy is a bundle of love and joy, ready to bring endless fun to your life! He enjoys the company of his cat and dog friends, and would be happy to have them around.

Charlie adores long, leisurely walks where he can stop to smell the flowers (literally!) and make new friends-both human and canine-along the way. He's a star when it comes to mingling, whether on walks or at the dog park. And the perfect end to his adventures? A delicious pup cup on the way home!

According to his foster, Charlie has a quirky love for carrots-who knew? He's also a belly rub enthusiast and will happily roll over to let you know it's time for some tummy tickles. Charlie thrives on being close to his people, always eager to be part of the action in his home.

If you're looking for a carrot-loving, belly-rub-seeking companion to share your life with, Charlie is ready to meet you. Contact us today to schedule a meet-and-greet with this sweet and spirited boy!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
