Boston Cream is an absolute Lover Boy with a calm demeanor and a willingness to be the best for you. This quick minded gentleman can learn on the fly and loves to impress you with his brilliance. Although he is calm, he still has a playful, energetic side and would benefit in a home that has other dogs. He immediately took to the resident pup as soon as we arrived home and within 24 hours they were best friends. If you are looking for a strong, protective and composed man who will love you unconditionally then look no further. He is impossible to not fall in love with when he looks into your eyes. He stays composed when we walk by reactive dogs on the street, he does brave things (like going in the elevator) even though he is a little unsure. I am just so impressed by how smart, loving and calm he is.
My foster dog is working on his crate training, but honestly loves sleeping on the floor. Within a week he has barely had any accidents inside and each day gets better and better. He learns so quickly and is an expert at pee pads if you choose to go that route instead. He does shed so he will need to be groomed to keep his lavish fur maintained.
Energy Level (1= calm, 10= high energy): His energy level is around a 7. He is always up for a walk or playing with his toys, but just as content to lay next to you and watch a show.
Barker? Or Quiet Pup?: He's fairly quiet but will bark if he hears someone at the door.
Walking Manners: We are working on his pulling. He is so excited to discover this whole new world and he wants to see everything, but listens very well as long as you are consistent with teaching him to walk next to you.
Appetite: This growing boy has a great appetite and is a lover of all treats
Does the following: (Gets car sick, nervous outside, has separation anxiety, hates the bath, none of the above). He has a bit of separation anxiety when I take my other dog out without him, but does calm down after a minute or two. He's not crazy about baths, but this gentle giant sits nicely and lets you spruce him up.
Favorite Things: Blueberries, cheese, whip cream, tuna, bones, tumbling around with other dogs, compliments and ear rubs.
Commands/Tricks: He learned how to sit on the second day he was here. We are working on lay down and come.
ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at WaldosRescue.org and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog. We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs.
Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States
