Meet Lemon Poppyseed
This sweet girl was surrendered by a breeder in Georgia. She is currently decompressing, but is surely and slowly coming out of her shell. Each day she becomes more confident and her true personality shines. Her skin which contains scabs suggests that she may not have come from the greatest conditions- but she is on her way to healing.
Lemon is currently living with 3 other dogs. However, she definetly prefers to be by herself and the center of attention. She will let her foster siblings know if they are crossing boundaries by letting out a growl/bark. She'd do best as the only dog in the home. However, with proper training, she may be able to adapt to a home with another dog.
Lemon is a quiet, sleepy, affectionate girl, and loves when you rub her belly. She is not being kept in a crate, and is still working on house training. Her energy level is pretty low as of right now, but she is still decompressing so it could change! She experiences separation anxiety and will always try to be with her person. She will cry if you leave at first, however she has shown improvement and is doing much better! She is the true definition of a Velcro dog and wants to be your one and only and with you at all times!
Lemon has not walked outside yet as she is still too scared on a leash, so she will need to go to a home where someone will continue her basic leash training.
Lemon LOVES her food so much that she needs a slow feeder to keep her from gulping all her food down!
Lemon is truly the sweetest girl and anyone would be so lucky to have her as a companion. p.s. her cute snorts are to die for
ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at WaldosRescue.org and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog. We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs.
Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States
