1/21/25 Meet Annie, a 4 month old GSD (Born on 1 Oct 2024), who is being fostered in Purcellville, Va. Annie is in the process of receiving her vaccinations and will be attending foster events in Chantilly soon.

Annie is a purebred GSD with black and white panda markings. She currently lives with two other adult dogs and interacts well with both.

Annie is a bit timid when meeting new people and experiencing new things but warms up quickly. She will need an adopter that is patient and will introduce her to new things at her own pace and with lots of encouragement. Socialization will be very important with her early on.

She is doing well with potty training, crate training, and leash walking. She is very affectionate and wants to be with you. She loves interacting with her people and other dogs in the family and would love to cuddle in your lap for a nap.

Annie is a wonderful puppy with the potential to be a phenomenal dog. As with all puppies, she will need an adopter with patience and time to provide training, socialization, and stimulation.

An applicant first submits an application form with a non-refundable $10.00 (cash or check only) processing fee. VGSR reviews the application, then schedules an interview and home visit during which a number of questions are asked and the home is reviewed to be sure there is a contained/safe yard, and to meet the family involved. Once the application is approved, the applicant is asked to submit a $250.00 (cash or check ONLY) minimum adoption donation to VGSR to help defray the costs of getting the dog fully vetted and ready to be adopted, and the adoption is completed.

More about this rescue

We provide a valuable service by finding good homes for the German Shepherd Dogs in our care. In the seven plus years that we have been in existence, we have found homes for over 2,400 deserving dogs. We are currently enlisting active volunteers to help with the task of placing some really wonderful, but homeless, German Shepherd Dogs. Our goal is to place all GSDs that are accepted into our Rescue in loving homes in which the GSD and the family will thrive together.
