Jack is a 6 year old working line, purebred German Shepherd. He is a big boy, around 115lbs. He is a big cuddle bug and enjoys his alone time with his people. Currently he is in a home with 3 other dogs and a cat, which he has been with since we brought him home at 8 weeks. We play with him in the yard, and he has separate cuddle time with both of us. But with all the pets in the house he doesn’t get as much attention or exercise as he should. Jack has been around children and would do well in home with children over 12 years old. When he gets his petting time, if he’s not done being pet, he will nudge your arm to let you know he wants more.

Jack does well on walks and he loves them. Jack went away on a 3 week board and train so he responds well to all commands. If you tell him to go left or right, he will turn in the right direction, and will cross the street when you say to cross. The trainer said we should not do off leash walks so he is always by our side when we are walking. He’s a great companion. Jack gets anxious during thunderstorms so we give him CBD oil the we get at Petco and he does well with that.

We think Jack would do best in a one dog home where he can get all the attention and love he craves. Did we mention that Jack is a great big cuddle bear and loves to snuggle? We want someone who has the time and will take Jack for walks and play in the yard with him. We love Jack very much and are sad to find him a new home, but he really craves love and affection and we can’t provide that with a multiple dog household. Jack would thrive in a peaceful adult only home. A secure fenced in yard is a must for Jack so he can lay out and play with his toys and be with his people.

Jack is neutered, up to date on all vaccines and on monthly heart worm. If you are interested in adopting Jack, please contact Amy @ amymb46@hotmail.com. Jack is located in Sneads Ferry.

More about this rescue

Thank you for considering adopting a GSRA dog. We love that you are exploring rescuing a GSD. We firmly believe that the adoption of a dog is not one to be taken lightly. Because of this belief, our adoption process is what some would described as lengthy and can be emotional. If you are looking to take a dog home "tomorrow", unfortunately our organization is not for you.
