My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chase is an 18 month old German Shepherd mix! He is very sweet dog and dog, cat and kid friendly. He loves children! He is not currently neutered, but we be doing that very soon and updating all vaccines! He has gotten along with every dog he's met although he is high energy so he will need a home that can engage and exercise him, he is a love bug. He absolutely loves children. As hyper as he is, he calms right down and will lay at your feet after you exercise him. He does have amazing recall of course caution is always used. In the foster home he is crated while foster is at work, but he is out at night and he doesn't chew but foster provides nylabones. He does chew if bones are not provided. He is housetrained. He needs a home that will be able to give him time and exercise and keep up with training. He deserves a loving home! Their adoption process

1.
Submit Application

Inquiry can be made about a pet by emailing casey@rescuepetsservingvets.org and/or calling 570-441-0083. Application then emailed to adopter

2.
Interview

Vet reference check is done if they have or had previous pets and applicant is interviewed on phone as well to insure compatibility

3.
Meet the Pet

A meet and greet is set up with potential adopter and pet at a agreed upon location

4.
Home Check

Home visit is required to check the safety of the home where pet will be adopted into.

5.
Sign Adoption Contract

Owner completes an adoption contract and I visit pet within a week at the new home.

Additional adoption info

For now an application can be emailed to a person interested in adopting a pet until I can finish setting up website and links.

More about this rescue

We are a small group of volunteers that rescue pets with medical needs from a kill shelter. We treat them at our associated Vet clinic and make sure they are spayed or neutered and vaccinated. Pets are then put up for adoption and we try and match them with the right owners. We give special priority to veterans and we begin service dog training while pets are with us. Pets are fostered in our homes or at the Veterinary Clinic until homes are found.
