Spooky was found as a stray in the Côte-des-Neiges neighborhood in the spring of 2024, before being brought to the Animal Rescue Network in May 2024. Spooky had been a stray for a few years, being fed by the neighborhood until the neighbors noticed she wasn't eating and was having trouble with her teeth. They brought her to the shelter so that she could be cared for and receive the care she needed for her well-being. When she arrived, she was very apprehensive about humans. At the end of her quarantine period, we discovered that Spooky was a carrier for leukemia. To find out more about FeLV : Feline Leukemia Virus | Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine Spooky has now been in foster care for almost 6 months. She's a sweet, gentle cat who takes her time to trust us. She appreciates being stroked under the chin, but needs her own space where she feels secure. We've seen her evolve over the months, and we're confident that she'll free herself fully in her forever family. Spookie has a sweet tooth and loves treats, so this is a great way to get her out of hiding! Given her temperament, we don't think that she would enjoy living with children. She's a cat who needs peace and quiet and time to get used to her surroundings. Spooky is a carrier le feline leucosis so the adoption fees for her are $100. She is sterilized, vaccinated, microchipped and negative for feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) but positive for feline leukemia (FeLV). You will also be provided with health insurances for the first 6 weeks following adoption. You will also have access to the support of the adoption team for as long as you need it.
