My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Beau! Beau came to CCHS with three other Chihuahua mixes as surrenders at the beginning of January. This sweet 3-year-old Chihuahua mix is 11.2lbs of true bravery! Beau was not given much of a life prior to arriving at CCHS. He spent most of his day in a small kennel without much freedom to learn what being a dog is all about. He was the first of the four to start trusting our staff and now it's hard to get his tail to stop wagging! Beau would benefit from a patient home as he navigates life outside of the confines of a kennel and what it truly means to be a part of the family. With any rescue, training and socialization are incredibly important to the success of the dog. Apply for Beau today!

Approved applicants will be notified via email. Please check junk/spam folders for a response.

The adoption fee is $250. Adoption applications can be filled out at CCHS or online through our website, www.cchs-petshelter.org. Applications are not first come, first served. All applications will be reviewed by the adoption committee and the home chosen will be the one considered to be the best match.

All dogs and puppies have been vaccinated for Distemper and Bordetella, dewormed and microchipped. If old enough, they will be vaccinated for Rabies and blood tested for Heartworm, Lymes, Anaplasmosis and Ehrlichiosis. Dogs and puppies will be spayed or neutered before adoption. CCHS is proud to be a No-Kill Humane Society. As a private, non-profit charity, our work depends on donations and volunteers to keep going. We are committed to helping the animals that enter our doors and finding each the best possible forever home. CCHS has been inspected and licensed by the Department of Animal Health - DATCP. Our license is #268235-DS.

More about this shelter

We care for the homeless and needy cats and dogs in our area. We provide for their medical and emotional needs while they are with us, while continuing to search for new homes and families. We also sponser 'FixaPet', a low-cost spay/neuter program available to anyone from anywhere.

Why do we do it? Because the animals need us and it's the right thing to do! :o)
