Approximate Weight: 35 lbs.
Gets Along With: other dogs. Comet has not been observed with kids or cats but we can test.
Currently Living at: the shelter, Comet needs a foster or a forever home in the DC area!
Comet is looking for his next big adventure! At one year old, he’s full of energy and loves to run, explore, and follow scents, often leading to some amusing escapades. Daily exercise is a must to keep him happy and healthy.
Hound dogs are known for their friendly and loyal nature. They are affectionate and enjoy spending time with people of all ages. Comet’s also likely to be very curious and somewhat independent, thanks to his hunting lineage.
Comet is at the perfect age for training, as he’s eager to learn but may be a bit stubborn at times. Using positive reinforcement and plenty of treats will help in teaching him commands and good behavior. Consistency is key.
Hound dogs are known for their distinctive baying and barking. He might be quite vocal, especially when he catches an interesting scent or is excited about something.
Early socialization is important. Exposing Comet to different people, animals, and environments will help him become a well-rounded and confident adult dog.
