Hi, my name`s Aurora! I am a beautiful, active 2 year old female who is looking for a forever family! I`m a curious girl who loves to observe and explore - bird-watching is one of my favorite activities! I love a play session with a wand toy - you should see me chase and jump around after it! Whether I’m chasing after toys, pouncing on invisible prey, or simply finding the coziest spot to nap, you’ll never find me bored—I’m always up to something fun! When I`m not playing, I love to snuggle up under blankets and will always enjoy a pet or two (or three..) from anyone who wants to give it. I am a BIG fan of cheek rubs/scratches - they just really hit the spot. Oh, and treats. I`ll never object to a treat. I’m looking for a home where I can grow, learn, and enjoy all the attention and care I deserve. There are so many ways to be my friend - could you be my new bestie? All members of the household are required to meet with a BHS Adoption Counselor and their desired animal during normal business hours.

The Humane Society of Baltimore County, now known as the Baltimore Humane Society (BHS), was founded in 1927 by a pioneering and compassionate socialite named Elsie Seeger Barton (1886-1983).
In 1902, at age 16, Miss Seeger was stricken with rheumatic fever and was confined to her bed. During that time, her constant companions were the family’s beloved pets. It was at that time that Ms. Seeger resolved to devote her life to the care and humane treatment of companion and service animals. When she became well, she established a refuge for abused and homeless animals on her family’s estate, known as “Thistle Top” on Milford Road in Pikesville, MD, overlooking Gwynn’s Falls Dam. In 1908 she married Bolling Walker Barton, Jr., President of Barton, Duet & Koch Paper Company.
