My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Beau - Your Valentine's Day Sweetheart! ❤️🐾

Beau is a handsome Mastiff mix who's ready to be your one and only! This big, lovable guy will sweep you off your feet with his charming personality and goofy antics. At his core, Beau is a true romantic - he loves being around people and forming deep bonds with his humans.

Beau can be a little "bouncy" when he's excited, but with some help learning "4 on the floor," he'll soon be a gentleman you can be proud to show off. Because of his size and strength, Beau would do best with experienced handlers who can guide him with confidence and positive reinforcement.

This Valentine is not just a sweetheart to people - he's also a social pup who has had positive interactions with other dogs. He'd likely enjoy having a furry playmate, but slow and steady introductions are key to his heart.

Beau dreams of a family who will give him the structure and love he needs to thrive. If you're looking for a big teddy bear to be your forever Valentine, Beau is ready to meet you. Apply today to see if this strong, sweet boy is your perfect match! 🐶💕

More about this shelter

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
