Cheddar just turned 2 years old on December 2023 so he’s the perfect age- past the crazy kitten years but still a young kitty with so many years to enjoy life. And Cheddar, even though he’s blind, sure wants to enjoy his life, particularly if it includes love and snuggles! He has been diagnosed with eosinophillic keratitis, a chronic inflammatory disease of the cornea, which led to blindness. We think he might be able to see some light but be assured, even if he can’t, blind cats can get around just fine. Finding his food, water, toys, litter box, his people, is no problem. Wandering around is great too, as long as it’s a safe space. Can you give this wonderful cat a safe, happy, and loving home while ensuring he receives the proper veterinary care he will need to monitor his condition? Pure love will be your reward! If another dog or dogs are present in the household we require a meet and greet prior to adoption. All members of the household must be on board with adoption. We do not adopt our rescues out without meeting person that will be responsible - no "gift" adoptions. We contract that if cat/dog must be relinquished they are returned to us. If there is a change of ownership we must be kept informed who responsible party is. Fees are non refundable.

Home Fur Good is a non profit no kill animal shelter located in the NE Valley. We take a majority of our cats and dogs from County, many who have treatable medical conditions and would otherwise be put down. We assess physical and behavior and work with the cats/dogs to find the best suitable match. It is our goal that each cat or dog that comes to our shelter ultimately be placed in their "furever" homes.
We also operate a low cost vaccine and microchip clinic each Sunday. We want to help community be able to care for and keep their animals safe. We do not charge vet fee only fee for vaccine and microchip. Additionally we have a low cost dental clinic each Wednesday. Check our website for more details.
