Violet (A134107) is a 2-year-old Alaskan Husky who weighed 47.1 pounds on intake!
01/23/25 Miss Violet, previously known as Timber is back at the shelter due her owner leaving the state and not being able to bring her along. Miss Violet was said to do well with adults and strangers and to be submissive around other dogs. She does not have experience with children, so please use caution if planning to introduce her to any. Violet has shown a high prey drive towards small wild animals in the past, so she may do best in a home without small animals or cats. She was said to be kennel trained and housebroken and was described as being outgoing, friendly and affectionate. She was said to ride well in the car and to be gentle when playing. She could stand to learn some manners, as she has been known to jump on people. She has been known to dig, so make sure she has plenty of enrichment to keep her occupied! Violet has been working on her commands, already knowing `sit` and `lay.` If you are interested in meeting Miss Violet, please give the shelter a call!
4/12/24 Timber arrived at the shelter as a stray after being found at Olnes pond. Timber was initially pretty shy at the shelter, but we have seen her start to really come out of her shell! Since she was a stray we do not know if she has any history with children or other animals. Please ensure you are always doing appropriate introductions with any and all new friends. Timber did arrive at the shelter with an upset stomach and has been on medication which seems to be helping! We do not know if Timber is housebroken and it is hard to tell with her gi upset. She is looking for a patient owner who can help her with whatever she needs as far as potty training, kennel training, and basic commands. Timber is also looking for an owner who can help keep her mentally and physically stimulated. She may enjoy becoming a skijor or bikejor buddy in the future! If you are interested in meeting Timber, please let us know!
