My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***Local Adoption Only: Trace must be adopted by a family in the Central Florida region (Orlando area) who will commit to taking him to his follow-up vetting appointment. This has already been scheduled and the cost is covered by his adoption donation.***

Hi I'm Trace, a Chihuahua blend who weighs just 13 lbs. I'm 3 years old and I'm looking for toys, adventures, and a family who will love me forever.

  • General Behavior: Trace is an active, attentive, loyal dog who is ready for anything. He is very friendly with humans of all sizes.

  • Likes & Dislikes: Trace loves toys so much that he hoards them in his bed. He also loves car rides, outings, and frequent outdoor walks with his female companions.

  • Training: Trace is becoming quite the little gentleman! He is housetrained if let out frequently and is a good passenger on car rides, although he still needs some practice walking on a leash. He can still be a bit protective of his bed and belongings, but a dog-savvy adopter should be able to help him through this.

  • Medical: Trace is a healthy boy! He just needs his monthly flea and heartworm preventatives, like any dog.

  • Other Animals: Trace is good with female dogs, in particular, although he does not show much interaction with other dogs during yard play. He is not friendly towards larger, male dogs.

  • Children: Trace is good with children of all ages.

  • Home: Trace would do well in an apartment, condo, or single-family home. This little guy doesn't need much (apart from a place to stash his toy collection).

  • Grooming: This short-haired guy won't need too much elaborate grooming beyond the occasional bath and regular nail trims.

  • Overall: Trace will make a wonderful companion for an active family who can raise him and love him forever.

Has Trace drawn you in? Do you live in Central Florida? Then visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You’ll be put in contact with the foster family for more information if it’s a potential match. He is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered, and he has just had his teeth cleaned. His adoption donation is $475.

We are a foster-based rescue organization and do not have a facility. We have all events posted on our website each month.

More about this rescue

Poodle and Pooch Rescue is a 501(c)3 non profit organization that saves dogs that truly need help. We rescue the "leftovers" from animal control, the dogs nobody wants because they're older or suffer from neglect, abuse or have a medical need. Their "last" day becomes the first day of their new life. We provide the veterinary care they need, a foster family they love and when they're ready, we adopt them to a family who cherishes them. We do not have a physical shelter because every dog lives with one of our foster families. We are all volunteers so your tax-deductible donation goes directly to help the dogs. We have saved over 5,500 dogs since 2008.
