My story

Meet Sherlock. He is a 5 to 6 year old gray and white pittie that weighs 67 pounds. he came in to the shelter on 10/5. and we rescued him on 1/22 so he had been there a long time waiting on an adoption or rescue to help him. The staff was really impressed with his loving, caringand friendly personality. He is calm, gentle and easy-going. He was a staff favorite. . He is cravin human affection and attention and is super loyal. He has had a very rough life, living outside his entire life and disgarded. His skin tell a sad story and as well as his elbows from laying on concrete. He loves his ears scratched. He takes treats gently andhe doesn't jump onn people. He would love to have children that would love on him as well...the more the merrier for this gentle soul. He surprisingly walks really well on a leashHe is good with other dogs and has learne to be potty trained in the shelter. He deserves to be coddled and loved as an inside dog and have a dog bed. He thinks this would be heavenly.

Thank you for adopting and not buying!!! Every week hundreds of highly adoptabledogs are put to death by local shelters. Most people would be amazed at the purebred and beautiful dogs available, if they walked into their neighborhood shelter.

Rescue organizations, like mine, work hard to save as many as we possibly can but is a never ending process with breeders and Puppy Mills selling unhealthy animals to the public. If you EVER saw a puppy mill you would NEVER buy again!

All of my dogs are neutered or spayed, vet checked, completely vaccinated, wormed, groomed and checked for heart worms. They are all are current on Heart worm medicine, flea, and tick medications. They are all microchipped as well.

Adoption fee is $300 to $350 (older "friends' can be less, please inquire. Puppies are $350 - Besides fully vetting all dogs, some of of the dogs I rescue, 1 in 5 I rescue have heart worms which is very expensive to treat. I also take in dogs who need surgeries and are close to death.

More about this rescue

About us: Cody was the first pet I owned as an adult. He was a Shih Tzu that I bought unknowingly, from a Puppy Mill. He fought for his life and barely survived, suffering for the first few months of his life. From then on I was stirred by a ferocious passion to save as many dogs as I could through networking with other rescue groups and saving the ones I could off of cold streets and unwanted in shelters. Cody did not live a very long life due to a weakened body, but I was able to love on him for eight good years! He will always be loved and forever remembered. With over 400 dogs rescued so far, we ARE making a difference!!
