Meet the Pet
This helps Piedmont Animal Rescue with pet care costs.
Meet Simone! She is a gorgeous brown tabby with beautiful deep orange colors throughout her fur. She is trying her best to adjust to everyday life because of all that she has been through. Simone has had to adjust to several different rescues, no fault of her own. Hurricane Helene forced her into our care from another rescue which we are so happy she is safe and has a second chance. Being able to have Simone in our care meant the rescues closer affected by Helene could have space for emergency animal intakes.
Simone is currently being cared for by a foster which has given her time to decompress, feel freedom from being locked up and finally getting all the attention. Since coming into the shelter system, she has spent most of her young life in a crate or enclosure which means freedom to roam was foreign to her. Since being with her foster and being able to socialize with other kitties, she has learned how to play, explore, enjoy lots of love, pets and what fun cat trees are. She needs time to decompress in her new home which also means being able to hide out for a few days to get used to the new smells and sounds. This sweet girl deserves so much love and kindness, not to mention, a place where she can learn what it means to belong to someone. Simone hasn't met or seen a dog and sudden and loud noises are scary to her. She would best be suited in a home where things are a little bit more low key. Older children that can start gentle with her and other feline's in the home won't be agressive. We have a video that shows just how incredibly sweet she is, you can request it by sending a message. You will also notice a couple of photos where she is laying on her back and side. When you pet her she just can't get enough of it and doesn't know what to do with herself. She purrs loudly, makes biscuits and rolls over. Once freedom was enjoyed and bonding took place, Simone was moved to a foster home with other foster kittens so she could get the feel of what a true home feels like. The foster just reported that Simone allowed them to hold her, which is huge, and clip all of her nails. WOW! we are so proud of this girl. She will make an amazing companion for her new person(s) and hopefully she will have a feline friend to keep her company and pal around with. We do ask that you make sure Simone will fit your schedule and home, she's already experienced so much change, we don't want her to go through anymore than she has to.
Simone would not do well at an adoption event so if you would like to meet her, you can put in an application and once approved you can request a meet and greet.
